　　一般過去時(shí)的定義

　　一般過去時(shí)表示過去某一時(shí)候或某一段時(shí)間所發(fā)生了的事情或存在的狀態(tài)。常與過去時(shí)間yesterday, this morning, just now, a moment ago, in May, last night / year / week, once upon a time, the other day, before …, when – clause, in the past連用。如：

　　I was there a moment ago. 剛才我在那兒。

　　What did you do yesterday? 昨天你干了什么?

　　I met Lin Tao this morning. 今天上午我會到了林濤。

　　一般過去時(shí)的概念

　　1、表示過去某個(gè)特定時(shí)間或某一段時(shí)間發(fā)生的動作或情況。這種用法的過去時(shí)間可以是指明的，也可以是不指明的。

　　例句：

　　He never smoked.他以前從不吸煙。

　　The skies cleared after lunch.午飯后天放晴了。

　　2、在表示時(shí)間或條件等的狀語從句中代替過去將來時(shí)。

　　例句：

　　We would not leave until he came back.他回來我們才會離開。

　　I didn’t go to the party that evening as I started the next day.那天晚上我沒有去參加聚會，因?yàn)槲业诙炀鸵霭l(fā)。

　　3、表示現(xiàn)在時(shí)間。這種用法使句子在語氣上較為婉轉(zhuǎn)客氣，能這樣用的動詞為數(shù)不多，如：hope,wish,want,wonder,think,intend等。

　　I hoped you would come and have dinner with us.我希望你能來和我們一起吃飯。

　　4、表示將來發(fā)生的事或過去將來發(fā)生的事。

　　5、表示過去的習(xí)慣動作。

　　例句：

　　When he was in the city,he often went to the Central Supermarket.他在這座城市期間常去中央商場。

　　Wherever he travelled in those years,he wrote down what he saw and heard.那些年里，他每到一個(gè)地方旅行總會把所見所聞記下來。

　　6、表示某種感情色彩。

　　(1) 表示過去某時(shí)所發(fā)生的動作或存在的狀態(tài)。如：

　　Jim rang you just now. 吉姆剛才給你打了電話。

　　Liu Ying was in America last year. 劉英去年在美國。

　　(2) 表示過去經(jīng)?；蚍磸?fù)發(fā)生的動作。常接時(shí)間副詞often, usually, always, sometimes, every day / week, etc. 如：
